Raku Workshop at Millstone Pottery, McGregor

2.5 days: 12 to 14 July 2019 – Millstone Pottery, McGregor

This workshop offers the opportunity of firing your pots using a variety of different raku techniques. Six distinct methods will be explored in 6 seperate firings. An input and slide show will be presented. Participants may put their own work in each of the firings and bisque will be available for sale for those who need it. We will also make teabowls together to fire using the traditional raku method. The firings include:

  • Naked raku
  • Horsehair, feather and sugar raku
  • Obvara
  • Ferric chloride saggar
  • Conventional raku
  • Copper fuming

Cost: R2 750 per person, includes all meals.

Participants can fire work for inclusion in "The Cube" as part of a group Wood-firing exhibition at Rust-en-Vrede from 12 November to 13 December
