This metallic compound is the most effective of all the opacifiers at all temperature levels.' Usually 5 % to 8 % will opacify any glaze completely.' It also acts to stabilize glaze flow.' If amounts above 8 % are used it should be calcined to red heat to prevent crawling of the fired glaze.
